Creating Jewish Services and Community
Standing in Solidarity with the Pittsburgh Jewish Community.
In the wake of the tragedy this past Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath, in which 11 members of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburg, PA lost their lives at the hands of an antisemitic gunman, the Gonzaga University Office of Mission and Ministry invites you to stand in prayer in solidarity with our Jewish chaplain, Rabbi Elizabeth Goldstein, and members of the GU Jewish community. We will convene in the Hemmingson Rotunda at 12 noon on Tuesday October 30th for a short memorial service followed by a moment of silence to remember the victims. As a university based on the best principles of religious life, we are cognizant of the loss of life due to hatred based on ethnic, racial, or religious identity. In standing up for our best principles, we invite your prayerful presence this Monday in Spokane, Washington. |
