There is a messianic element to this holiday in that it is an auspicious time to welcome Elijah, who is said to be the herald of the savior; the one who will usher in a time of peace and integration. In order for Elijah to come, we need the hearts of the parents to turn to the children and those of the children to the parents. Though not literally children and parents, in this moment, the children are the “Diaspora only” Jews and the parents are those whose see a Jewish future that is solely dependent on the Jewish State of Israel-each one thinks they know the best way forward; each feels they are expressing Jewish values of justice and righteousness from their depths of their souls; each think they know the path to protect Jewish life for future generations. At this moment, as I pray that Elijah sends some guidance to our seders this year, I pray that we Jews will turn toward each other and not away from one another so that the future of the Jewish people will be secure in both Israel and the Diaspora and love will pour forth for all peoples of all lands.

Behold, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before the coming of the great, awesome day of YHWH.

וְהֵשִׁ֤יב לֵב־אָבוֹת֙ עַל־בָּנִ֔ים וְלֵ֥ב בָּנִ֖ים עַל־אֲבוֹתָ֑ם
Yah shall reconcile parents with children and children with their parents,

(Malachi 3:23-24)

Metzora / פָּרָשַׁת מְּצֹרָע Hebcal Date Sefaria Torah Reading Leviticus 14:1-15:33 Song lyrics & Song music by Rabbi Elizabeth W. This teaching emphasizes that physical sustenance and spiritual learning are mutually essential. Bread, as a staple of life, represents the material needs of the body, while the Torah represents spiritual guidance and nourishment for the soul. In Jewish thought, bread is often used metaphorically for the Torah, highlighting that just as bread sustains the body, Torah sustains the soul. - Rabbis Linda Motzkin and Jonathan Rubenstein https://breadandtorah.org/

He-Asheer Lo Yarbeh from Parshat Ki Tisa Rabbi Elizabeth Goldstein Song Lyrics

https://www.elizabethwgoldstein.com/torah-music/he-asheer-lo-yarbeh-from-parshat-ki-tisa-rabbi-elizabeth-goldstein-song-lyrics

https://www.elizabethwgoldstein.com/torah-music/he-asheer-lo-yarbeh-from-parshat-ki-tisa-rabbi-elizabeth-goldstein-song-lyrics#comments

Exodus

Gifts

Heart

He-Asheer Lo Yarbeh

Hebcal

Hebrew

Hebrew Bible

Hebrew Letters

Ki Tisa

Offering

Parsha Ki Tisa

Rabbi Elizabeth W Goldstein

Rich and Poor

Sefaria

Torah Music

Torah parsha

 Ki Tisa(Exodus 30:15)הֶֽעָשִׁ֣יר
